6045 Scaring me!

I have had the pump cover replaced once already. Now the unit is making a loud "staticky" noise that I can hear across the room. It sounds electrical.

The noise does not go away and it does not sound good. I am a little afraid to leave for work today thinking electricity will leak in to the tank. The pump is 2weeks old.

What is this, I have not had this happen on other pumps.

I don't think anything electrical would make a noise, My suspicion is that at some point the stainless steel washer came off the shaft and is loose in the pump. Open the pump and check it out, the manual shows a parts break down, the stainless steel washer is not shown as it was a recent addition but it goes on the shaft between the disk 6025.74 and drive unit 6025.70.
