I bought a new impeller for my pump but when installed it jumps and kicks off it won't run smooth. What is wrong with my pump

That is the correct part. Is the shaft loose or pulled out (metal shaft that is part of the pump), is the disk 6055.740 worn or missing, this sits down at the base of the shaft.

Look inside with a pen light, you may have the older 6025.740 which has no blue rubber ring, they do not come out easy and generally a hook tool is needed to hook it and pull it out, they can wear down though.

I don't have a hook tool I have looked inside and did not find anything that looked like it would come out. I have gone ahead and ordered the part.
I bought the pump on 6/02/2014. The impeller looks the same as the one I bought I think

What country are you in? Usually you can get these hook tools very cheap at autoparts or dollar stores in a set of 4, the one that looks kind of like a stretched > is the correct one.

I live in Canada.
I see a bullseye pattern with a small circle around the impeller rod
It does not look like it comes out

That sounds like it is missing then. The base of the pump will look as you described, if it is flat, i.e. the middle and surrounding star pattern is on the same plain it is missing.
