6045's on Wave timer...

I have just purchased a pair of 6045's for a 50 gallon cube I'm doing and was just wondering whether or not a I would be able to put these on a wave maker which would come with a Reefkeeper II, Aquacontroller, or the like?

I have heard that there are issues with the start-ups with these pumps in the past so I was just wondering how that might affect the current models.

They can be switched at 15 minute minimum intervals. The longer the better. While possible it is not perfect and it is possible with different voltage situations and if debris or lime accumulates in the pump that it will occasionally run backwards.
