6055 chattering and nothing can shut it up

Roger,

I had one of the first 6055s you built. All the sudden a few days ago it starting making a ton of noise and vibrating. I assumed it just needed a cleaning and pulled it out and cleaned it today. It's still noisy. The steel shaft that goes into the motor seems pitted, as does the steel washer. It's a clean as I can get it but it still vibrates and I'm afraid to put it back in the tank. Any thoughts?

The shaft is broken, you probably got one of the very first 6055's which had the Chinese Shaft, there were only a handful of these made before we switched to the German shaft. PM me your info again and I will send a new motor.
