6055 issue

My 6055 now only spins in short bursts every 10 seconds or so. I've done the vinegar soak and double-checked that everything is clean.

I am wondering if it may have something to do with the small discs at the base of the drive unit. There are two: one is stainless steel at the bottom then there's a smaller black disc which has a tiny chip in it. Is this the order they're supposed to be in? And which one exactly is the "disc for drive" (7025.740)?

There is no chattering or any other drama. It just simply spins whenever it feels like it.

I have it hooked up to a 7095.

Thanks.

The disk 6025.740 is the black disk you describe at the bottom of the pump, the stainless steel one was an older disk that is obsolete but they were used as shims under the disk until the supply was exhausted in about February 2008. Something is wrong with the electronics or there is some debris between the shaft and drive unit causing excessive friction and drag that is shutting down the pump.

I have (4) 6055's with various washers/discs. Some have the graphite disc and one has what looks like a regular metal washer. I would like to update these pumps and was wondering if 6055.740 is to replace my current discs/washers. If so, what did it address/accomplish?
thanks

It is thicker so it replaced the old combos of stainless and black and stainless and white plastic washers. It also incorporates a silicon cup under the disk which serves as a shock absorber to reduce the clicking sound on start up.
