6055 issues

I ordered 2 nanostream controllable 6055 powerheads during black Friday. I just put them in the tank a few days ago and am having issues with one of them....

It seems when I set the power to anything less than 30% the pump will spurt(makes a few rotations) and stop completely. Anything above 30-35% seems to work fine. It just doesn't work at low speed. Everything clean and I've checked the impeller for any interference and everything seems fine. The other powerhead works flawlessly at minimum speed.

Anybody seen this before? Is there something I can do to fix it? I already threw away the boxes & shipping documents for it....

Also,

I just put my hand in the tank.

The flow of the "good" pump at 20% was much stronger than the "bad" pump at 35%... It seems as if this powerhead is significantly weaker?

Are you only using the built in 7090 controller or are they being used with another controller? If being used with another controller they may need a calibration, if being used stand alone, the issue is likely the 7090 itself.

So you're thinking it's only a controller issue? I'm planning on controlling with an apex in the future, so would it work fine then?

It may or may not, since you have 2 of them can I ask you to try something?

The controller can be unplugged, the manual shows how, you remove the two screws on the back and pry off the 3 knobs on the front, it is best to turn all the knobs all the way in one direction so you can remember how they go back on as the knobs can go on 2 ways one would be reversed 180 degrees. Try swapping the controller, if it follows the controller we know that is it. Other possibilities would be a propeller assembly that fits too tight or the motor. If it is the controller, we can easily send a new one.

Can you email me your address and a copy of the receipt?
