6055 Nanostream Placement

Finally I took the plunge and ordered 2 6055 nanostream that I'm planning to run on 7095 controller.

I've 36" x 18" x 21" standard tank with the overflow box being on the left corner.

So far I was only using my return and one Koralia#3 pump for the circulation.

I was missing the wave action and read that these nano with controller can produce the wave action.

And hell so many people talk about Tunze being this and that, and of'course all in the good sense, so why not to try one

I'd to spend a lot but I'm hoping one day when I'll upgrade to 48" x 30" x 20" I'll be able to use these babies (everyone hope to upgrade to the bigger tank always :fun2.

My question what will be ideal placement for these two 6055 with an existing Koralia#3 and return (using Mag7)?

Currently I have mostly softy but would like to try some SPS later in the hobby.

Also how should I set these on my controller, as I never had one of these and don't know anyone here who have them either.

I would put one on each side of the tank. Place the left one about 2/3 back and the rigth one maybe 3/4 or so of the way back. The Koralia I might try more near the front on the right blowing staight across the tank interesting the return pump. Use the Tunzes on an interval of maybe 10-20 seconds at 30-100%.

That is just something to try. It is hard to always know whats best as rockwork, coral placement and just personal opinion will be the ultimate deciding factors

Could you tell me if I should connect the two 6055 on the same channel or different chanel on 7095 controller?

Just to clarify, only the 7096 could produce an actual wave, the 7095 cannot. If you mean alternating flow direction by "wave action" the 7095 can do that, but if you want to create an actual wave, you need the 7096.

Hi Roger, That's a surprise to me, I thought that 7095 is better as it provides all control in the unit itself unlike 7096 who require computer to be programmed.
I truly wanted the wave action similar to Vortech that's why I went with 6055 and 7095 controller.
Under the circumstance what is the best solution you suggest to me?Any help would be nice.

Roger may have something different to say but I would go Nano Wavebox if you wanted a wave (sorry I had missed that part in the original post). The downside to me of using the pumps like the Vortech or the Tunzes to create a wave is you dont end up with much directional flow, just the water washing back and forth a short distance, which is important especially if you want SPS as flow is vital. Personally I would use the 6055s for flow and a 6206 for wave action if that is what is desired.... but is just an opinion. But if I was to have one or the other I would take the flow over the wave

That's somehow give some comfort, listening from such n expert is always helpful. Since I just bought all these and not even connected I am not in the mood to trde them up for something new. I just want the way to get best out of it.

One sentence may have been worded poorly. Should have said maybe somethig more like

The wave instead washes water back and forth a short distance lifting debris but the circulation pumps will sweep it way and bring "fresh" water with it.

If you wanted the able to try both and you have yet to use the 7095 you could always see about exchanging for the 7096.

I agree with Shawn, you do ideally want both directional and wave flow and his solution is the best. The 7096 can actually do more than the 7095, it is cheaper only because it relies on a thousand dollar computer you already own to do most of the work and needs no buttons or complicated electronics, it is just some memory and connections and software.
