6055 Problems

After getting great CS for my 6045 bracket problems and having a multi-controller in my garage, I thought I would go ahead an move up to four 6055 powerheads. Well upon opening the box I find the front plastic shrowd has detached from each powerhead. I snapped them back on but they don't hold very well. It seems the power cable pushes against the shrowd and wants to pop it off. Since I am always leary of running a pump when I am not sure of its quality, I ran these overnight in my salt mixing container. Three of them make a clicking noise and two of them lost their shrowds overnight.

Are there any easy solutions to the clicking and shrowd problem that doesn't include superglue?

Thanks ahead of time.

Don't use superglue, usually if the shrouds come off easily they are out of round, squeeze down on them from the cable opening to the bottom and round them back out, pull the cable back and try clipping them on. Was the clicking noise only on start up or always?

The click on startup I assume is normal like most AC prop driven pumps on startup and not what I am talking about. The click or more like shhhh sound is after they have been on for a few hours. I have only ran one test and turning them on now cold they aren't doing it. Will report back if they are doing it tomorrow after leaving them on tonight.

I will snap them back on as you suggested tonight. I snapped them bottom up so the tab on the housing would line up easier.

Ok found the noise. After a few hours the housing begins to come loose and the prop is rubbing against it or vibrating it making the noise. I managed to get 3 of the housings on properly and use the clip to help hold them in place but one seems no matter what I do it eventually vibrates loose. I don't want to use it in case it is damaging the prop when it is potentially rubbing the housing.

What should I try next?
