6055 question

How do I tell if my 6055 has a titanium shaft or stainless?

Can I change it to titanium if it is not?

Thanks

Only the first 200 6055 made in May 2007 have 316 ss shafts, everything after that is 316ti which is 316 stainless with titanium added, it is virtually impossible to have the hold shaft, only 50 came to the US and almost everyone has been replaced.

Thanks
I have two that I bought used and the owner thinks they are stainless, can you verify by serial number?

No, we don't use serial numbers, only manufacturing dates and from 06/2007 to 06/2008 the 6055 had no date codes. I would say the odds of them being 316 and still working are virtually 0.

They are about 18 months old, so that would be ti from what you are saying.

What are "c clamps" in reference to these 6055s?

Are you a rep for Tunze?

Yet another question, what is the glass thickness range for the 6055? It is not in the manual.

Thanks

The C Clamps are part 6025.510, there is a new version 6025.650. This is what attaches the pump to the magnet.

It is not pure TI, both are actually stainless steel, the first was a lower quality Chinese made stainless steel and what we have used for the last 40 months is a German made 316TI, this is 316 stainless steel with added titanium, it is what the brake and fuel lines are made of on a premium luxury car.

I am the US distributor and I work in R & D. I answer all English language emails as well, worldwide.

For battery backup each pump would need a 6105.500, you would need a battery, each amp hour of battery rating is a bit more than 1hour of pump run time. You also ned a charger for the battery.

625, 6045 and 6055 all use the same magnet holder for 19mm or 3/4"

I just bought a new 6055 from aquacave should it have the quiet mount?

For the two used 6055s that I bought yesterday, I bought the quiet clamps from tunze.com. Do they make much difference?

The silence clamp for the nano streams will not be included until mid next month, the first batch with the new clamp is now in production. The 6055 is very quiet except on thin glass, they will only make much difference on 1/4" or less glass.
