6055 stray current

When feeding the fish last night with my shoes off I felt the tingle of stray current. I started unplugging things one by one and found that it was my 6055. I was a bit perplexed since I know this is a dc motor, so I separated the dc cord far away from any ac power cords, and the zap was weaker but still present. It is definitely entering the tank via the 6055. What should I do?

Send in the pump, as long as it is less than 2 years old and an animal did not chew through the wires or they were cut at some point, we would replace the motor under warranty-
