6055 that isn't running

One of the 6055's in my tank isn't running. It acts a bit like it does when I hit the feed button. It tries to start with a little jump, but doesn't go. I switched it to a different power supply with the same result. I had it out about a week ago and cleaned it because it wasn't running. It started up when I put it back in the tank and seemed to be working fine. Now it's not running again. Any suggestions?

What's the life expectancy for these pumps?

All four of my pumps looked just the same. One of them has been making a noise however. I don' t know if it is this one or not. The noise is sort of a buzz that varies in loudness with the speed of the pump. I just turned down the controller to an intensity that was quiet.

If physically it looks ok and the shaft is not loose or falling out I would have to defualt to Roger when he comes back on for more info. Could possibly be a failing motor.

As far as life expectancy, on all our products the engineering goal is a life of at least 5 years. The 6055 has only been out for 3.5 years and it has been the most reliable controllable pump we have ever had from my experience. I would send it in-

Hi Roger,

What kind of turn around is there on pumps that are sent in? I'm going to be gone for a while, and I will leave in two weeks. If I get it out today, will I get it back in time to reinstall it?

We generally turnaround a repair in 24hrs and ship back by UPS ground. However, we are closed this week to do inventory, I am doing a few repairs a day out of boredom, because believe it or not I have more fun fixing things than I do counting and shuffling papers. I think at this point we are about 72hrs out on repairs. I think it is more than 50% chance you will get it back in time.
