6055 w/ controller

had a quick question for you roger- my lfs is gonna give me 2 of the 6055's from the first shipment they get, but which controller would be better to run them. They will be my only powerheads in my 75 gal. I guess my real question is if i get the single controller with the "y" will they pulse together at the same time or can i alternate them to get a back and forth flow. Thanks for any help

The multicontroller is the only way you can alternate them. The single controller with branch dapter just pulses them in unison.

thats what i thought, what if i got 2 of the singles, could i achieve the back and forth this way? My wife is already yelling about how much i'm spending on the nano's, just trying to save a little on the controller.

You could but it doesn't work as well and honestly I think you will regret it. If it is a big issue, but the pumps and buy the controller later, the pumps work without the controller.
