6055

I have two 6055s that were purchased together a bit over a year ago. One has stopped working correctly. It is operating in fish saver mode, where it will pulse briefly. Even disconnecting the controller cable has no effect. The other unit is still operating fine. I wanted to check if there was anything I could try before sending it in. I found the addess in another thread.

If you haven't already please take off the front cover and inspect the impeller. Make sure it is clean and rotates smoothly. You could also swap the impellers and power supplies between the two pumps to see if the problem stays with the same pump. Let me know if any of these steps reveal anything and then we'll take it from there.

Never mind. All it needed was a thorough cleaning. It was fooling me because it would run for about a second every so often.

I have a new problem. It may not even be the same unit. I had taken them out of service and now put them back into service. Anyway, I have a unit that is not operating correctly. The unit will run for about a minute and shut off. If I remove power at the connector and immediately plug it back in, it will not work. If I wait some amount of time, not sure on the minimum, and plug it back in, it again will work for about a minute before shutting off. By the way, both have brand new impellers and they move freely.

Hi Todd,

Can you try swapping power supplies between two of the 6055s? See if the problem stays with the power supply or with the pump. Please let me know what you find.

Yeah, I tried that already. It didn't make a difference. And the other units run fine regardless of power supply.

I sent the pump in and UPS Tracking indicates that it arrived on Monday. Have you had a chance to check it out?
