6060 and feeding time

Its been mentioned that the 6060 and the like should not be turned on and off other than a 1hr interval.

I just got a 6060 (amazing flow BTW) which has turned some areas looking like a hurricane.

Does the above mean I should not turn it off to feed and turn on again in 5min?

I have to wait a whole hr?
What is the reason for it.

you'll be fine flipping it on and off for feeding no need to wait...

the one hour recommendation is to keep people from running them on wavemakers because repeated starting and stopping is hard on the motor...the keyword being REPEATED.

The off time is of no real importance, it is the on time that is necessary to cool the motor, retract the bakes etc. Basically, as TG said.
