6080.50 magnet ok on 1/2" glass

Hello,

Just ordered a new oceanic tech 120 tank.

The glass is 1/2" thick.

Will my two 6080.50 magnet holders (holding 1 6000 and one wavebox) be ok with this, or should i upgrade them?

I'm going to add a 2nd magnet for the wavebox on the new tank - should I get a 6080.5 or should I get a 6200.5?

And, for the 6101 I'm going to add, should I get a 6080.5 or should I get a 6200.5?

The specs for the 6080.5 say up to .47" thick. Is there a little play in that for a 1/2" tank?

I guess my choice are :

1. buy 4 new 6200.5's, sell old 6080.5
2. buy 2 new 6200.5, use old 6080.5
3. buy 2 new 6080.5, use 6080.5 all around.

?

Thanks!

Thanks Roger.

By the way, I thought I'd add a comment about the wavebox and the magnets.

I know you + Tunze manuals say that you should use two magnets w/ a wavebox.

But, I read on here of people using one magnet + suction cups.

I tried this (fitting two magnets with my canopy was not possible without cutting, and I'm selling it soon as part of an upgrade) , and it has mostly worked fine. Key word - "mostly".

Luckily, when it did fail, I was home. The wavebox came loose, and "walked" all over the tank. Not a good thing. Now, I check the suction cups regularly.

In my new tank, I'll be using two magnets, as recommended!

Yes, I know about this problem, if you use suction cups it is best to change them every few months.
