The other day the alarm on one of my 6100's started going off... no big deal i pull it apart and stuck all the parts in vinegar for 24 hours.... a quick switch with a toothbrush and put it back together... the prop seemed to spin fine it didnt seem to be getting snagged on anything so i figured it would be fixed... alarm started going off again... frustrated i left it unplugged but still in the water... the next day i plugged it in and it worked.... cool i thought... only now every 10 minutes or so the alarm starts going off again for like 30 seconds... then it turns back off... it does this over and over....

any suggestions?

The only suggestion i have is to follow the above sticky for cleaning procedure. The most important part is the rear bushing and if you have the old style pump make sure you follow the thread closely. If it still don't help, send the pump in and Roger will fix it :D... Most of the time the alarm went off cuz it got dirty..

The most common cause of what you describe is the upper bearing is either stuck to the magnetic rotor or is very rough or the center hole in the magnet rotor is clogged by calcium.
