6100 alarm

alarm was sounding when i got home. took the stream apart and didnt notice any coralline build up. pump is 6 months old. what should i do?
 
Check the thread collective21 points to, if that doesn't work let me know and we'll take it form their, usually the upper bearing, the track at the bottom of the hole the magnet sits in is stuck to the magnet and that is the cause. The magnet should spin freely on this track and not be stuck to it.
 
The drive unit is the magnet? Either something broke or it is seized by calcium deposits. You may need to send it in. Sometimes you can wrap a towel around the pump and swing the pump down and stop abruptly and the magnet will drop into the towel. If it is seized this won't work, it also requires a quick wrist and isn't easy. You could also carefully drive a dry wall screw slighgtly into the hole in the magnet and pull up on that. Don't get to into it, if it doesn't come out without much work you will just make it much harder for me to do it when it comes back.
