once in a while my pump would beep
don't know why

The main culprit is a jammed or damaged drive unit, I would start by disassembling the pump and giving it a through cleaning with vinegar to remove all calcium build up. The alarm is a normal feature and means the pump is stopped or spinning slower than it is being signalled to.
