6100 Chirping

I have a 6100 that is controlled by my Apex and when the profile is a wave profile with divide by 10 enabled, the driver keeps on chirping. When the profile is a normal flush or night mode, or even if I disconnect the Apex, the chirping is gone. Something about the divide by 10 function that is making the driver chirp constantly. Any fix on this? Thanks.

Hi Clint, what exactly does the divide by 10 function do? It sounds like that may be a function the Apex offers, but the pump does not support.

It allows you to dial down the on/off frequency in a much more precise manner. A lot of guys who use Apex and 6100 streams use this function, primarily in wave profiles. The other driver that I have does not chirp so I know its an issue of the other pump or driver.

Sounds like the pump might be sensing a little drag. Have you disassembled it recently for a good cleaning? See here ... http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1071516

Also which model impeller do you have?.... single piece or the one with the brakes?
