6100 driver making piercing sound

It sounds like a piercing alarm. It happens immediately when the transformer is plugged in (whether or not the 7095 controller or stream is plugged in). It started doing this around noon PST today, at which time we unplugged it. I tried it again just now (to see if it was something that would "clear" itself, but it is still making that noise.

Does anyone know what causes this ? I cannot find my original documentation (even though it is only a couple of months old). Thanks in advance.

found this in another thread.. should have done more searching before posting :(

The alarm just means the pump was stuck and needed to be cleaned. Be sure that you cleaned the upper bearing, this is a track at the bottom of the hole that the magnet spins on and the magnet being stuck to it is the number one cause of an alarm. Often times people overlook this and the alarm goes off again in very short order.

Thanks.. will do... now I jsut need to get to the stream (it is "hidden" in the rockwork). I figured I would need to deal with celaning it, but it has only been in the tank for a month or so, so I didn't expect it to be so soon. I was near the tank when it started... scared the heck out of me until I figured out what it was :). I almost suspect a snail or something managed to climb into it (persistent buggers...), going to find out later on today :)

Yeah, that is a likely scenario, especially those stomatid snails the little black half shelled ones that come in with the rock.
