6100 making oud beeping noise???

I just returned from vacation to find my 6100 making a loud beeping noise. the only way i could get it to stop is by unplugging it. when i plugged it back in, it started beeping gain. What is causing this and how do i mitigate it???

Have you thoroughly cleaned it lately?

that was my first guess and the answer is no i havn't cleaned it in a few months. it is some work to clean it as it is in a tunze rock covered in sps. i have a way to get it out but it will take some work. i was wondering, however, if it could be anything else?

I am sure Roger will answer in the morning...but cleaning is the most likely issue.

Cleaning is the place to start, the alarm sounds when the pump is jammed. They need to be cleaned every 3-6 months. The only other possibility is an electrical problem.
