6100 stream = microbubbles

I am using the 6100 stream w/out a controller and it produces surges of microbubbles. Is there any way to control this?

Clean it. The only possibilities are it is sucking in bubbles from the surface or it is creating a vacuum internally. A strong vacuum could only be created if the pump has a lot of calcium build up. Especially look at the hole in the center of the magnet.

Strange thing is I just bought it used and appeared to be thoroughly cleaned. I will have to look into that. The pump sits about six inches down from the water line.

Is the strainer oriented solid side up? Check the hole in the magnet and the upper bearing, these would cause cavitation if obstructed.
