6100 Stream seized but clean

My stream started alarming last night, and even though I cleaned out the calcified crud around the impeller, it still won't start back up. What else do I need to look for?

Five critical things to check

Is the whole in the cneter of the magnet clean- i.e. can water enter to cool the magnet.

Is the magnet cracked- if cracked it will not work.

Is the bottom bushing stuck to the magnet- do the parts move smoothly against one another.

Is the top bushing- piece inserted into pump as a collar straight and clean.

Do the brakes ratchet smoothly in and out? Are they broken or damaged?

OK I got the second one working again without any major hassles, but the first one is still not working. The one thing that I hadn't done was to clean the bottom bushing properly; I basically can't get it out. Although it looks relatively clean and I can move the impeller assembly by hand without feeling any major resistance, the motor still won't turn it. That thing is a major pita to get out (got any advice about how to get it out without damaging it?)! I guess I'll just drop the whole thing in a jar of vinegar for a while and see if that helps loosen things up?

Vinegar and a dental pic or small allan wrench that you can hook through the center hole.
