6100 to sps distance

I will be recieving my two new 6100s and a multicontroller this week. I was planning on placing them in the back corner of each side. My tank is very full of sps's and I am concerned that the ones closest to the streams will get stressed and die. I have posted this question in the sps keepers forum and it was recommended to keep all sps's 2 feet from the streams. This would mean I could only put stuff in the middle 4 ft? Is this correct. I was under the impression that the streams flow was much wider and more diffuse than a conventional powerhead. If this is the case then I have to watch out for the whole flow pattern and not just straight out from the stream. Is this right? I am worried that the streams might not have been the best plan. Any suggestion on how to minimize tissue damage would be appreciated.

thanks

You will need to start slow but there is no reason the robust branched high flow acroporas could not be within 8-10" of the outlet. They will definitely need time to acclimate to the higher flow and this could be done by moving them in slowly or by slowly increasing the flow rate. Definitely more sensitive types like echinatas and Montipora sp need some distance but tables, catspaws and your heavy branching types will adapt to this high flow, these are the sort of flow conditions they experience in the wild, but after adapting to captivity will likely need a month or more to get accustomed to a high flow again.
