6105.240 light flashing

I have been running two 6105 pumps on a 7095 controller since March with no issues. This morning, I noticed that one of the pumps was not working. So, after checking the connections, etc., I found that on the power supply for the pump which was not working, the 18V light was flashing red. I switched the connections to the pumps, and when I plugged the pump that was not working into the other 6105.240, that pump started working with no issues.

Neither power supply has ever seen water, as they are mounted to the wall over a foot higher than the sump. I also have not heard any audible alarms from either of the units. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Usually a flashing light on the power supply indicates the pump is partially jammed and drawing too much power, if they have not been fully stripped and cleaned since installed, this is likely the issue, calcium build up in the pump (drive unit and metal shaft) will cause increased power draw until the power supply starts to overheat/overload. Try a thorough pump cleaning first, remove the drive unit and soak all parts in 50/50 vinegar and water for 4-6 hours.

The 6105s have no alarm, that was only on the much older 6100s.

Sorry Roger, but I've got a quick question. I took out the drive unit and soaked it as directed, and also did a quick cleaning of the outer case. When I took the drive unit out of its bath, I noticed a part that had come loose, which I believe to be part 6055.740 (the pumps are 6095s and not 6105 as I previously stated). Which way faces up when I place this back with the unit? Thanks.

The blue silicon faces the bottom of the motor, the black plastic disk inside the silicon cup faces the bottom of the impeller.

Thanks for the prompt response. Just wanted to let you know that your involvement on RC, and apparent availability to answer all questions, was one of the main reasons I went with Tunze (3 pumps and an ATO) over other companies' products.

Tried the pump after its bath and the light is still flashing and the pump is not working. This time I tried switching the 6105.240 with the pump that is working and it was still flashing. So I unplugged the flashing 6105.240 and the red light stayed on, even when unplugged, for about 30 seconds.

Yes, a capacitor holds a charge so the light stays on for a while. I think the issue is with the pump. The propeller assembly removes easily from the pump now? Does a metal shaft remain when you pull it out? So long as you are sure it is clean, it would need to be sent in to repair it. Include the pump and power supply and a note with your return address and phone number.

The propeller assembly removed fairly easily the first time I took it out before the vinegar/water bath. I'm not quite sure if it removes any easier now than it did previously. Before putting the propeller back on, I tried to inspect inside for any debris, but could see none.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by does a metal shaft remain when I pull out the propeller assembly. I don't have the unit in front of me at this moment, but I recall that there is a piece that remained with the rest of the pump which I believe to be a metal shaft which I was able to place the "bushing and attenuation disk" back on, in the manner you described to me earlier, before placing the propeller unit back with the rest of the pump. If that is what you are describing, that has remained with the rest of the pump each time I removed the propeller unit.

If you want me send you pics of anything, I can do so later tonight (West Coast time).
