Hi Sir,
I had ordered few pumps from Marine Depot shop. Two of them had some problems after running two days after. One is 6200. It completely stop and had very loud noise. When I turn on the power it will move one second and stop again. I also had cleaned up the shaft but it's still not working. Another is 6000. It work well but when I turn the power off. It wll have small bee sound from the driver. I found out the problem is cable plug between 7095 with driver. If I plug one more time and small noise will be gone. Any ideas?? Thank you
BEN

Usually I had two 6200. One come with new shaft design. I wonder are their driver also the same because I want to change each other to see which part have problems. Thank you

Make sure the connection of the cable is secure on the 6000. As far as the 6200, I would send it in for repair, I don't recommend swapping parts as it is a good way to break more parts.

Hi Vitko,
Do I need to sent transformer and driver as well or I just need to sent 6200 pump? Is there anything that I need to pay attention and where should I sent to? By the way, I live in Taiwan.

I would want the driver back with the pump, but not the transformer. We usually do not ship outside USA, you would have to pay shipping, or maybe we could ship it to MD and they could put it in with your next order?

Send it to-

Tunze USA
305 Victor St
Austin TX 78753

I can send it to any address in the US for free, so if you a relative here I am glad to send it to them. Otherwise I can call you for a visa or MC number or we can take Paypal.

Hi Ritko,
I sent it by FEDEX. It should arrived on next Monday. There are one 6200 pump, transformer and driver. I need to order somethings from Marine Depot recently. Let me check with the
MD. If there is no problem. Please ship it to MD and put it in my next order. Thank you.

Hi Vitko,
I was upset with my 6200 pump. It got same situation again and this time is another one . I bought these two 6200 pumps for a while but I started use it less than a month. The shaft is new design and I have no idea how to clean it up.
It cost me more than 100 US dollar to your company and I guess the early 6200 pump still in MD shop. If the motor block is broken again. Can I replace by myself. I don't have much money ship it to your company again. I just hear the 6200 quality is not as goood as 6100. Is that true ? Because my 6100 & 6000 work very well. Thank you
Ben

How do you know it is the motor block? The 6200 is the same basic technology as the 6000 and 6100, the 6200 is using a lot more power and if it gets dirty with lime or overloaded in some way the driver or motor block can be damaged, damage to the driver is usually what happens, a broken motor block is really pretty rare. A 6200 motor block costs more than $100 and you could ship it to me much cheaper than Fed Ex.

I see, I though the motor block it's easy broken part. I guess it probably happen again. How to clean the new shaft inside or which step should I check first ? If it still not work. I will sent it to you as soon as possible. by the way. I forgot to mention it had some leaksge of electricity.

Follow the stickied thread at the top of the forum as far as cleaning. I am puzzled by the stray voltage, this should not be possible. I would verify this in a bucket outside the aquarium so no other appliances are connected and could cause this.

Hi Vitko,
It still not work after cleaning the shaft. I will sent it to you as soon as possible and please sent it to MD also, So I can get
my two pumps return together. I will sent one 6200 pump and driver. Will it be okay? I had few switches to turn pumps on and off. I guess my hands are wet and touch it so cause the stray voltage. What kind of reason can cause the motor block broken?
Thanks for your help.
Ben

The motor block could really only be broken by a big drop- over 10ft, or a manufacturing defect or a power surge. Motor block failures are pretty rare, driver failures are much more likely the cause of a bad pump. The motor blocks probably fail less than 1% of the time, the drivers probably somewhere around a 5% failure rate.

Vitko,
You will receive my 6200 pump and driver next Monday by FedEx. The tracking number is 8564 0274 9720. Please sent it to my friend's place after fix it. Thank you for your help.
