6200 still messed up after repair!

When I sent my 6200 in for repair you indicated that it was a problem caused by my failure to clean the upper bearing. When you returned the pump to me you instructed me to clean a couple key pieces. After doing so, i put the pump back in my tank. Right away the alarm started going off. I unplugged the unit quickly and the sound stopped. I then decided to attempt to use the pump without connecting it to my multi controller. The pump began opperating normally. In order to determine if the pump or the controller was defective, i switched the connections on my multi controller with my fully functional 6200 and the one that was just repaired. Again the one that was just repaired began sounding its alarm. So it appears that the pump was not totally repaired. I would really like to avoid spending the money to ship this pump back to have it fixed again, and be without its flow for another week, but I am guessing that is my only option.

Let me know what I should do,
David

I didn't test it on a controller but I have never heard of a pump working without the controller unless the problem was the controller or cable. Send it back, include the controller and cable, if the fault is because of what I repaired I will reimburse you for shipping but if it is the fault of the controller or cable that is a seperate issue and not something I had anyway of knowing or preventing.

dascharisma, Tunze customer service shining brightly?

You have never posted in my forum as far as any search shows. What is your beef? If I made a mistake I am sorry and it will be handled fairly and yes, I think we generally offer excellent service however I am not perfect. As I said, the pump tested out without a controller drawing the spec wattage on a watt meter and without sounding any alarms. I have never in 5 years seen a pump sound an alarm when attached to a controller and had the problem be anything outside the controller or a cable so I will be surprised if the issue pertains to what I was sent for repair, but if that is the case, I will gladly compensate his shipping expenses within reason (UPS ground or Priority Mail)

My question was not directed at you. I have no beef but thanks for assuming I do. Just interested in the outcome ( as a potential Tunze customer )Keep it professional and your service will speak for itself.

The problem with the pump was a result of my failure to follow the cleaning instructions provided in the manual. Most companies would have told me that my problems weren't covered under warranty. Instead of giving me the shaft, Roger fixed the pump free of charge and shipped the pump back at his cost. The fact that there is something wrong with my pump when hooked to my multi controller has nothing to do with my original complaint, or the service done to remedy that original problem. Roger has stood by the Tunze product with no questions asked.

If you are looking for a high end pump with great customer service, look no further.

Thank you David.

I am sorry, I try my best to wear all my hats. I do every repair, I at least type up every order and the label and supervise its packing and I answer every question in this forum. I have tasks assigned to me by Tunze, new products I am responsible for developing and I am trying to improve the manuals. Sometimes I screw up but I do this because I like it and my heart is in it so I have a different feeling about things and take complaints personally.
