6200

Roger how do you clean a 6200, does the magnet come out of the housing?
This is the unit I got from you a few months back, found today that it's not pumping so went to clean it and I'm not sure if the shaft comes out or not.
Don't want to go any further until I'm sure what to do to get this one up and running.
Thanks

I think you mean a 6205? There are two versions, the shaft is removable on all Stream 2 pumps made until Nov 2011, this shaft has a blue silicon bushing on either end and attached on one end to the propeller housing. After that the shaft had no blue end bushings and is shorter than the hole for the impeller, it doesn't reach the front housing. This style shaft is not removable, only the magnet pulls out with the propeller.

Roger you're right I meant 6205 but after a closer look it's a 6105, blue impellor.
I'm at a loss, after soaking it a couple hours I pulled on the magnet and the drive shaft came out, the end of the shaft has grooves in it. So maybe it shouldn't have come out.
I noticed another thing, there's no shaft coming out of the magnet at the impellor, and nothing goes into the hole on the face grill. Looks like I may need a new impellor shaft, magnet, the blue cap for the impellor shaft that fits into the front grill cover. I may need the blue rubber cover that's on the drive shaft too. If I could find a diagram of the parts I could figure it out but can't seem to find one.
Thanks in advance Roger.

If this was a pump that had the shaft that is meant to be fixed on one end, the shaft cannot be replaced, it has a knurled end and is permanently pressed in at the factory. It sounds like the drive unit was cemented to the shaft by lime deposits and in pulling out the drive unit, the shaft was forced out. On this type of pump, removing the shaft, permanently destroys the motor. When did you get this pump? This style of pump has only been available since Nov 2011. I would suggest sending it so we can figure out exactly what has happened.

Roger I think you're right, it will still run but makes noise. I'll get it shipped to you asap.
Thanks Roger
Bob
