6200HV height question

Hi Guys,

I've been out of the reef game for years now more stable in life and want to take on another tank SPS dominant a friend of mine had a tank with the GHL 6200 lights and I was wondering how high should I mount these over the tank
dimensions for the tank Cube 23x23x19.

Little off topic I'm also looking for a protein skimmer for a 10gal sump and some powerheads if anyone can give me some suggestions.

The rule of thumb is 12" off the water

I have mines about 16" off the water level, works perfect. I have mines up higher because I want it to cover a little more area. Yours is a 23" cube, so 12" or even less would still cover your area without any issues.

As for skimmer, I would suggest something small like a tunze 9004. But if you had the cash to blow, go with a BK double cone 130. That would be sick!!!
Powerhead: can't go wrong with a Vortech MP10QD! Or even a tunze 6055 would work. I would go with the vortech though due to size in the tank.

Perfect I will try it at 12" and see how it looks I was thinking either 12" or 14" A friend of mine has an Octopus NWB110 for a pretty good price what do you guys think about that skimmer ? I've heard you have to keep the water level very high in the sump.

I was looking at the Vortech those are nice pumps think I might jump on one..

Woah the BK is super nice bit out of my price range for a skimmer though but damn it's awesome looking..
