If I wanted to get some 6200's replacement caps (the front piece that locks on over the Impeller), how would I go about getting those, and how much each ??

Do you mean the screen (mesh) piece on the outlet, or the face plate with the inlet grate and outlet? They are both available but the screen is about $10 while the 6200.13 is about $50.

The (mesh) piece, is that the piece you that has the slits on like 3/4 of it and the other 1/4 is a sold plastic piece ?? The piece that you need to take off in order to get to the impeller and to attach the magnet hanging piece...

I would like to get 4 of these, how would I go about getting those from you ?? Do you take paypal or CC ??

The piece I am referring to looks like the bluish / gray piece in the pic below

That is 6200.13, they cost $49.94. I have 3 in stock. Because the opening is quite a bit larger I really recommend using the screen 6212.200 which is $9.86. This is a cover for the outlet that is like a 1/8" grid mesh to prevent fish and snails from entering. If you still want them I do take PayPal now and we also take Visa or Mastercard by phone.

You guys charge 50bux for a piece of plastic screening... Ignore my PM as I guess I found my answer..

I may be the only one, but I think this is an outrage.. We have all payed top dollar for these pump and only people who have purchased your product would buy a replacement screen, so how can you justify the cost of that piece of plastic..

Very dissapointed
Mike

Well, that will definitely change the price  I have no control over pricing, that is one of the most expensive molded pieces on the pump, even to replace the one you have is $45. The mold that makes those pieces costs about $20,000. Most of the smaller parts are $4 to $5 so whatever the reasoning I am sure it is priced fairly as all the other parts seem fairly priced. Sorry, you aren't happy but their is nothing I can do about it.

Even if the mold cost 20,000 then all you have to do is sell 400 pieces at 50 bux and your money is made back.

I still think its a little steep considering how many of these units you guys are moving, but thats just my view..

It's basic economics! The cost of the machine is only a small percentage of the cost. There is labor, the resins for the plastics, the cost to develop the mold and then the all mighty profit! There are other cost associated as well, but I don't work for Tunze so I can't elaborate.

My point is, they are in the business to make money! They, or any other company, wouldn't exist if it wasn't so.

Sure, there are many other costs involved in producing a product but all I was saying is that 400 units makes the costs of the mold back.

I still think a piece of molded plastic should not have to cost 50 dollars, especially to those who have already purchased the product.

Tunze has enjoyed a monopoly on their awesome product (I am a fan of the streams), but that is changing and it will be interesting to see what happens to prices, and maybe, just maybe we will see that perhaps most of the cost of the stream is not materials and labout, but profit :)

Yes, I know for a fact Mr Tunze drives a Rolls Royce. Actually he drives a VW van and lives at the factory with his wife and five kids, and his wife works for a living to owning an aquarium shop. Their is a huge difference in cost between building things in the 1st world vs the third world. Their is a huge difference in cost between having BASF and Bayer custom formulate your plastics and owning your own machines vs having ? of Taipei make pieces from recycled plastic for you.
