hello i just received my 6205's here in canada, they seem quite loud makes a humming/vibrating noise that is quite irritating and can be heard in another room in my house ? one seems to be more quite than the other now, are they suppose to be this loud or does the noise die down in time? what can i do to improve the noise level? thanks

There are a few possibilities. First check that the magnet holder has no protrusions that may be touching the glass and that the rubber feet are installed. If your glass is less than 1/2" thick you may need to install an additional pad as the magnet is for thicker glass and on thin glass will transmit a lot more noise. The pump may also need to run in for a couple weeks.

do i also install the rubber feet on the part inside the tank as well? my glass is 3/4 inch, i also took the powerhead off the magnet holder makes the same noises, also tried taking the powerheads apart and putting them back together still no help, thanks

Of course, it is far more important inside the tank as it isolates the magnets os the vibration is not transmitted to the glass. It may just take a week or two of running.

i took your advice and added the rubber feet and it doesn't seem the magnet is touching the glass. both of the pumps are more quite now and but the one of them is still very irritating. my glass is 3/4 inch thick and my pump has been running in my tank with fresh water for more than a month. the pump is quite when i pull it off the holder and away from the glass but its way louder than the other one still waht should i do?

I would try to isolate the cause, try swapping the pumps in the holders. If it is isolated to a particular holder this would show that. If so I would try moving the holder slightly as sometimes a particular position is more prone to resonance noises. I would try swapping the drive assemblies as well and also the front covers but it is critical to change only one at a time and move the old parts back to their original positions before changing another. Once you isolate the part you should be able to just write the dealer and get the part.
