6205 Parts question....

I have a couple questions about parts I need for a 6205 stream. I bought a bare motor block that was being kept as a spare for a fellow hobbyist. I have already ordered the impeller as well as the shroud from Tunze through my LFS. I have also tracked down a magnet mount on ebay. My question is the power supply. I need the part # and is it the same as the 6105's(since I have a pair already)? Also, is there anything further you think I would need to get this a fully operating pump? I heard somewhere about possibly needing a "disc" in addition to the impeller?? Will this come with the impeller if ordered from Tunze?

Thanks! You need power supply 6300.240. The 6205.700 drive unit will include the disk.

Roger, thanks! Will the 6105 power supply work? I see they are much cheaper. Why the big price difference between the two? Also can you direct me to a site where I can order them?

It will work, but the life will be short and the warranty void, the 6105.240 is a 50W laptop power supply, the 6205 uses about 40W. Unlike charging a laptop the pump is running 24/7 and if it gets dirty or jammed it can peak at 60W and blow the fuse of the power supply. The 6300.240 is a 110W laptop power supply. You will see the same sort of price differences at electronic stores, locally a 50W laptop power supply can picked up for $39.99-$99.99 depending on features and quality, a 110W power supply is between $129.99 and $199.99. We select the power supplies based on lack of a fan, lack of unnessecary openings that may expose more risk of moisture and salt damage and the lowest operating temperature we can find and the fact that they have to operate for an extended time.
