6205 Tunze Incredible

Just received a 6205 after running 6101's and a 6105. The flow and distribution of water is incredible. I am now able to run the pump at 100% without blowing sand around my tank. Had to run the older style pump 40% and lower to keep from sand storms. I am sold on Tunze's and Roger's service can't be beat IMHO.

Did you buy new? I was told they are on backorder from Tunze for a few weeks now. I am sure the flow is way better than the temporary rig I have now unt more 6205's are in the USA.

What is the difference between the 6205 and the 6105? It looks like the 6205 pushes more water, why would you have less sand blowing with a 6205 than a 6105?

That is what I thought, but to my surprise it doesn't. The 6205 has a much large diameter opening and thus pushes a much wider stream of water disbursement. It is an amazing difference. I have been running Tunze's for years and this is the first model number that I can crank up to 100% without any sand movement......I am not blowing smoke.

ddevlin, we did get 4 pumps last Friday and you are next up as soon as more arrive. We have quite a few backorders for this pump. No 6105, 6205 or 6305 or waveboxes were made in February or early March so for now the focus has been on the big sellers the 6105 and 6215 which we were really behind on, but 6205's will start coming in in larger quantities next week.

Tegee - How long is your tank? What else are you running for flow?

Only a short time on the 6205, but been running the 6105 for over a year now and Tunze's for about 4 years.

this sounds very interesting! I have a penisula style tank that is 30"x48"... i currently have 2 mp40w's along the side with the overflow and need more flow. im thinking of adding a 6205 and it sounds like it will have pleny of power to add a lot of extra flow through the entire tank.

I ditched my MP40w's for 6205's. they were just too loud and I wasn't impressed with the flow.
