HI I have a 6215 that about 6 months old... I powered down (unplugged)the pump yesterday... I plugged it in this morning before the lights were on (using a photocell) when I returned home this afternoon the pump wasn't running... I took the pump apart and cleaned it... i noticed the end of the impeller shaft closest to the motor appears burnt... any thoughts... the pump didn't run dry

It is hard to say, the magnet can stick to the shaft due to calcium and this can create a lot of heat and friction and may cause some burning or staining, some iron particles may have also gotten into the pump and caused a rust staining. Based on the location of the stain and purchase date I am fairly certain it is the newer titanium shaft and not the older 316TI, which would corrode but only under the blue boots where it was covered. The titanium shaft is very light and feels a bit like aluminum, slightly heavier, the 316ti is shiny and heavier, like stainless steel. It is possible the magnet bound to the shaft and this damaged the motor or power supply as it was running at a much higher wattage dragging the shaft in the boots and it is also possible this is not related to the problem. If you bought it from a dealer in Canada you would need to contact them or Xenia (importer) for warranty service. Does the controller still light up?

Thanks for the reply... the controller is lit up, and the green light is lit on the power supply ... the motor block doesn't make any noise when plugged in... I will contact my local vendor
Thanks
