6255 propeller housing popping off

I have a 6255 and the propeller housing doesn't stay on very well. It pops off very easily. Do I just need a new housing? Pump was purchased in 2012 and used on and off.

This tends to be the norm for this front housing, it will fit loose, but it should not be so loose it just pops off on its own. It lacks the rigidity of the other pump housings since it is so open. The best way to check that it is fitting as tight as it should is to verify that all the little tabs are present and if you have a compass (type used for drawing a circle) draw a circle of the same diameter of the front housing and compare to be sure the front housing is not out of round, then squeeze it as needed to get it back into round. For the most part, it will fit loose and the clamp will be what keeps it all together.
