62g in Wall sps build

Excellent news. So you started using an ABS? I just switched to using one in the mix as well to try and color up some stubborn corals.

Hey Mark. No i apologize for the confusion. I swapped out the ABS that i had , for a true actinic. For some reason the abs was washing a lot of the color away for me. So for now im running 3 b+ 2c+ and a true Act. I have to change bulbs out in January, and will most likely follow big E and go 3 b+/3 c+.

That very last photo of the blue Acro, does it have red polyps or is it just my phone?

I have the same bulb combo as you, but I don't think there's anything wrong with half n half C+ and B+ either. I don't think either combo will make or break a tank. I do love the ATI Actinic, though it doesn't last long (to my eyes) and I change it out at 6 months.

Hey Myka.
I actually owe the actinic idea to you. Saw yoy getting good results with it. But for sure wont be going back to that hideous ABS. Yes that has red /pink/ green polyps. Depending on how much light its getting. Its a crazy acro, it has changed colors on me 3 times now. So weird.
Here its a chain of events pretty much on it.

Weird! It as a mind of its own!

I don't like the ABS bulb either. I ran one for 2 months because I ordered it, and figured I should use it. Yesterday I knocked it over when I was cleaning the fish room, and broke it. Aw...so sad. :bounce1:

Lmao... i put mine in the attic. Hoping i forget its there..

Very nice. My tank looks great after removing the ABS. It may have helped color some corals but it also makes the tank look like pee. :lmao:

Yea that abs is not really for me. If i ever decide to go with another white bulb i will definitely try a 14k or 15k one. For now, i stay with my combo.

Quick update guys
New bulbs in!! Did 3 B+ 3 C+ like Big E has in his tank with ridiculous success. Ehhhh wow this is bright, very bright. I lowered my photoperiod from 9 hrs to 5 hrs. I will increase 1 hr every 2 days, so i can give my corals get used to the light. Does that sound about right?. I feel like i should put sunglasses on my fish lmao. Pic will follow in a few days.

Corals are looking really good! Looking forward to pics with the new bulbs.
Must look really bright.

Hey Matt yes is super bright man. Here is a quick comparison of the two

Well news update. My tank has taken a nosedive and i have lost about 8 corals and counting. Seems about 80 of the tank is doing great, the other 20 not so much. This sucks big time!!! First to go was my Hawkins, then it just got worse. So i checked alk, and it was spot on. I suspect a leaky heater could have caused this, since i saw some condensation inside of it. Besides that only change was a bulb change, which imo i acclimated the corals to. I lowerd Photoperiod to 5 hrs from 8 and increased 1 hr a week, and im now back at 8. Before the chance, i had noticed some browning on some corals that usually look spectacular . I have stopped all dosing of AF besides comp 123 .

Im cleaning the glass every 5 to 7 days , and its just a light film. Besides that im being overan by aiptasia , i have tried 2 filefish and PPS and my fish killed them and made lunch of the shimp lol. Here are some pics. Welcome to suggestions for help

Ugh. Sorry to hear. Glad to see you have ditched most of the aquaforest. All Pete and I experienced from it after the initial response was headaches and mysterious deaths.

Berghai nudibranch for the aiptasia, and perhaps your P04 is higher than you think. Sorry to see you going through this.

Reef keeping is life!

Sorry to hear of the downturn, and sorry I missed it as well. How is everything going now? I'm still using AquaForest Reef Salt, MicroE, and Kalum without issues. They do make products that can nuke a tank if combined in the wrong way, which is dangerous and I think they're smarting from the bad PR at the moment.

My primary reason for using their reef salt is the KH and size of the container (I can lift it and not pay an excessive amount for the smaller size).
