65g Stocking Help Please

I would greatly appreciate anyone's help checking my proposed stock list!

Not quite new to the hobby, but new to having a tank large enough to house more than a couple of fish. I'm getting my QT setup this weekend, and once cycled will be making my first fish purchases. Main tank everyone will be going in is a 65 gallon which is already housing a pair of Ocellaris clowns, and a tail spot blenny from my previous tank. Trigger systems 26in sump, Bubble magus NAC 5.5 skimmer, and using the middle chamber of the sump as a fuge.

- o. clown pair (already have)
- tail spot blenny (already have)
- royal garamma
- possum wrasse
- Midas blenny
- prawn goby and shrimp pair
- red stripe angelfish
- 6 line wrasse

I would not recommend the 6-Line Wrasse, as they can be real jerks. I would replace with a Fairy or Flasher Wrasse. Also the Red-Line Angel, I am assuming you are talking about an Elibi dwarf angel, I pass on that also. Maybe do a smaller angel as the Elibi can be to be 6 inches. Maybe a Muilticolor, Flameback, Flame, or Pygmy angel would be great replacements.

Also if the your current Clowns are already a mated pair, just be careful as they can become aggressive as they mate which can hamper introducing newcomers.

Ok, i can skip the 6 line (rats, he was my favorite lol), and maybe do a flame angel or coral beauty instead of the red stripe? Yes I meant the Elibi dwarf.

The clowns have been breeding in the past, but are not currently as all their good egg laying spots were getting overgrown in the 20 i think. To be cautious, you would just recommend not adding anyone while they may have eggs or be about to lay a clutch?

Well I would not say yes or no. IME, when I added fish that was equal or smaller in size than the clowns, the clowns would unleash a "can of whip ***" on the newcomer. The only ones they did not really bother was my big angels and tangs.

Ah... I see lol. So is it a good idea to try and purchase a royal garamma, possum wrasse, etc... that are on the larger side?

If possible, or putting them in a holding tank until the smaller are added.

I have had a 6 line in almost every tank I have had with no issues as long as he was the only Wrasse.

Hmmmm thats good to know. I know they have a reputation as being jerks... but I feel like its one of those fish that EVERYONE has had at some point in their hobby career. To me they embody the hobby as much as ocellaris clowns, or yellow tangs, and im really excited to get one if its possible. Of course I learned a long time ago though that nothing good ever comes from pushing limits in this hobby... at least not at my level lol

Dont get a coral beauty if you want to keep corals.
They dont mix well at all. And depending on the CB it could eat nothing, everything, or only your favorites.

A flasher or fairy wrasse would be a much better choice than a sixline. They are more interesting imo as well, and won't harass crustaceans

Oh man... didn't realize this! I thought their common name 'coral beauty' was due to them being able to be kept WITH corals lol. But I just assumed that haha. Is a flame angel a better choice? I'm totally fine with occasional nipping as long as it doesn't totally eradicate something. I understand its a reef, and everything eats everything. But I also don't want to completely loose any corals because of a fish I should have better researched.

Ooookkkkkkkkk I guess I can live without the 6 line. My wife isn't a big fan of them either. Im just drawn to them in specific for some reason, but if its not a smart choice i can live without one.

No the angelfish will nip. Go to liveaquaria and check the specifics on any fish you want there. They are good about describing what's eats corals and such
