675 gallon glass display / 1,100 + gallon system in LA

Hey Everyone,

I've been out of the hobby for almost 2 years now, I moved to a new house and had to take down my old tank.

About a year ago I wasn't even sure I wanted to come back to the hobby but some friends from my local reef club (O2manyfish, Chefzilla, Josh, and Jeff A.) kept encouraging me to come back and here I am now...coming back for more punishment! :headwally:

I have built up the tank so far with a remote fish room...the tank is approximately 1 month from going online so I've got a lot pictures to share! :beer:

I have done some of the work myself (I own a construction company) and I also had help from Dave B. In planning as well as Julian G. from Aquarium City.
Aquarium City has been doing a lot of the physical work such as plumbing & lighting.

I wanted feedback from you guys as to how to wrap up the project and general remarks are always welcome. :fish2::fish2:

The tank dimension are 9ft x 4ft x 2.5ft
It's a glass tank made by AGE 3/4" thick with white powder coated metal bracing. We had Reed Savy build a really cool ghost overflow so it wouldn't take space from the tank!

I had to cut back the wall dividing the two spaces so that it could be enjoyed from all sides

This is the remote fish room it's approximately 7' x 11'
I insulated The walls with our 13 insulation, then I please have been Chicwood over that so that I have backing anywhere I need it, then we installed tile from floor to ceiling so that it would be humidity proof.

These are the Quarantine Tank's or the fish with eight chambers in total and each divider is removable just in case I buy bigger fish that need more room for Quarantine.

We had Advanced Acrylic's also produce Acrylic braces that we could put shelves or tanks on so we could have less corrosion related issues in the future!

I feel like a lot may tip toe back into the hobby after being talked into it. You sir, are all are nothing. Much respect. :thumbsup: sub'd and looking forward o following your progress.
 
Yeah I was hesitant to come back to the hobby because I had mixed feelings about the cost of keeping a large system (mostly electrical) and the problems that had caused some set backs (flat worms/Kalk reactor failure/learning curve/etc.)

But all it took was the encouragement of some friends (peer pressure) to get me back to my old addiction again!

I don't know how to do anything half assed so when I came back to the hobby...I came back with avengence trying to fix a lot of the shortcomings my last large system. (But isn't insanity thinking we can change the inevitable).

Just playin. I really like your fish room. Smart to get those acrylic mounts!

Rockscaping using some of my old rock work and some newly purchased fake rock. I used the Ecotech glue and acrylic rods to put together some of the complex pieces. I'm using different size grains of sand depending on flow in a specific area!

Definitely excited to see what you end up putting in this tank. Are the feed/drain lines going through the floor?
