675 gallon glass display / 1,100 + gallon system in LA

I try to stay away from using a closed loop system because I wanted to avoid drilling unnecessary holes into the tank but I guess I have a limitations with my flow options

I wonder if you could do a MP on the bottom somehow....

I knew a guy that did that, but he ran a bare bottom tank.

If the tank will be built in, I would consider running a return across the top to the far side.

This is the canopy places upside down, it is pretty much a white 3/4" acrylic tank that was built and then we added some bracing.

This canopy is 8'x4'x9" and will be hung above the tank.

Inside the canopy are 15 x Gen 3 & 4 Radions on rails so they can be slid back and forth. Also the lights on the two side rails were installed at a slight angle to concentrate the light toward the middle!

Thanks to Aquarium city for installing the lights onto the acrylic canopy!

Love your build so far the rock scape looks awesome. And I think you have more money in your lighting then I will have in my whole tank build, can't wait to see what's next.

That's a great idea to use an all acrylic canopy! Who did you have fabricate that for you? Was that someone in the aquarium industry or an independent acrylic fabricator?

also following along with your gyre dilemma. I would wait and see what that wall of vortechs will do. To me that looks like it will get the water moving really well.

Now we are working on plumbing in the fish room and the UV sterilizer and chiller...

I looked around for a Scarus quoyi recently but I couldn't find one online. My LFS hadn't even heard of them. Mind if I ask where are you planning to get yours from?

6- MP60s quiet drive
2- MP40s quiet drive

Do you guys think that it's all of them a place like this on one end of the tank that it will generate enough flow for a 9 foot long 675 gallon tank?

Is your canopy going to be right on top of the tank? Or will there be a gap? My thought is, since you are already going over the lip of the tank for your return, why not run some PVC along the bracing at the top that will return the water in different areas of the tank?
