70 Seahorse build

I spent about 2 hours drilling holes for the closed loop intake and spray bars.

I then made a mock up of the tank out of plywood with PVC to figure our the rock work.

You will also notice the tools of the trade - saw and grinder with diamond tipped blades, drill with masonry bit, and some 1/4" fiberglass rods.

I also used zip ties and epoxy putty with super glue on it.

When I make the shadow box all of the white plumbing will be hidden.

Of course, I've still got a million things to do besides a shadow box:
Rework CL plumbing - I drilled out the pipes for a safety air hole that go to the bottom (so tank won't drain in a closed loop plumbing mishap) out too high so that I'm getting an annoying splashing noise.
Rework sump to lower water height in sump some.
Install ATO, controller, cooling, heaters, electrical outlets
The coral life MH/PC fixture - PC lights are not working - I can't see putting money into both ballast and bulbs - will probably retrofit fixture with LEDs
Might even put my algae scrubber on the sump drain-

I've got plenty to do before adding horses.

I have always wanted to make a seahorse tank. I am definitely following this thread. Please post more photos :)

I'll show more pics as I go. Reworked closed loop plumbing to get rid of the noise and lowered the level in my sump by cutting down the acrylic lead baffle.

I also have a 190 reef and my copepod cultures that were needing some attention over the weekend.

Next big thing get the ATO functional plus the sump in a little better shape for next weekend. That should be worth a couple of pictures.

I haven't posted for a while because I've had to travel quite abit with work which is putting getting any ponies on hold.

i would like to have a mated pair of Yellowhead Florida Jawfish so I made a jawfish house by epoxying rock to make a small cave for them with a small opening.

From the top showing the opening

I'll try to get a few more pics up. I also had to make a new DIY LED fixture for the tank which was not planned.
