Ok i have a 75 gallon tank and a 90 gallon tank and i was thinking about combinding them into a 180 gallon. What i have for now is 2 250 watt medal hallides and a 260 watt t5 fixture. And i am going to use my 75 as the sump and have 2 hang on the back overflows and as my return pumps i will use my mag 7 and 18 but will eventually upgrade.
And as far as skimming i am going to use 2 medium skimmers from my 2 tanks and will eventually add 1 big one. any advice on what else i need to consider is appreciated
tahnk you Dustin

If you want to make this a successful project, start with getting the 180 gallon REEF READY. Ditch the HOB filters, ditch the Mags, ditch the dual skimmers.

Get a single return pump that will work, get a single skimmer that will work, get adequate amount of liverock. Have you thought about in-tank circulation?

Usually, a six foot tank requires three metal halides, not two. Just a few thoughts for starters....I would not half-measure this undertaking.

Just out of curiosity why are the hob overflows worse. As far as inside flow I have a few mags that work great
