7095 controller problem

Roger,

One of the channels (if this is the right term) is no longer working on my 7095 controller. Channel 4 does not control a 6055 pump when it is hooked up to it. The impeller will not turn and the pump sounds like it is trying to start about every 10 to 20 seconds. Any ideas on what the issue might be?

If you unplug the cable for this pump from the contoller does the pump run at full speed properly?
Yes it does. I currently have it plugged into another "channel". (I only run 3 pumps.)

The controller has only 2 channels and 2 sockets for each channel. My guess would be that this is either from the program being run, or a bad cable or a socket that has some water damage. If three sockets work then both channels work. I would inspect the sockets and try another cable. The pump has some communication as what it is doing is the "fish care" function so it is being told to not run but is still receiving power and some signal from the controller to do this.

It is not the cable. The same cable worked in socket 1 of channel 2, while not working in socket 2 of channel 2. So I guess it is a socket issue. What can be done about this? I'd like to be able to run a 4th pump but can't do it with this socket not functioning.

Question: Are all 4 green socket lights supposed to be lit reardless of whether or not a pump is plugged into them?

The lights depend on the program, in Interval 1 only 2 are lit, in pulse and interval 2 all are lit, in sequential they light up in sequence and only socket 1 is always on. You might open the controller and inspect for any salt damage, if it is only the socket you could try cleaning it with contact cleaner. If the cause is not salt/ water damage it would be covered under warranty, you are welcome to send it in.
