roger:

I believe I recently read that it isnt good for the streams to be going off and on, something related to the internal brakes.

I currently use interval 2 quite a bit but would love to use the sequence setting more but am concerned about the pumps turning off and possibly shortening their life.

using the sequential setting, (or interval 1 for that matter) and setting the interval at 1-60 min (app one third 20 min) well I was wondering is this endangering the pumps - and if so why would tunze not give some type of heads up warning in the instructions.

Thanks in advance for any help you may offer

I have the same question, as interval 1 works well for my tank but I use 2 because I am worried about the life of the pump.

The pumps foul with lime faster when turned off and on vs fast and slow. More cleaning is necessary. The most recent pumps with drive unit 6100.70 can handle off and on provided they are kept clean without any issues. The 6100.60 drive unit can handle it fairly well but there is increased risk of drive unit damage the faster you cycle them off and on. In a perfect world where the pumps were clean as new and the mains voltage was constant, no risk would exist but that just isn't reality. If you have the 6080.60 drive units, you really need to upgrade to use rapid on and off cycles but only 6000 and 6100 pumps older than a couple years would have this part.

Mine are 6200's so I should have no issue at all right, especially since I wont be using a RAPID of and on cycle ??
