7095 moon light not coming on

No! That would explain it! When I turn on Night Mode or Moonlight Mode, the seem to activate regardless of the amount of light hitting the sensor.

Is there an initialization process to set the sensor to read correctly between light and dark?

If I want night mode and moonlight to work (when the sensor says it's dark), do those led's need to be on?

Sorry - I've read the manual several times, but I must be missing something.

Yes, the controller LED's need to be on. Make sure the photocell is right side up, you will see one side has wires and the other has the photovoltaic grid.

Roger,

I have a newly set-up 7095 - running about 2 weeks. I've noticed over the last week that the moonlight is not as bright as it was the 1st week. I wiped the LED, but there is not change in intensity. Any thoughts?

is there any way to calibrate the sensor so that it doesn't require so much light? at the moment it requires my metal halide to be on or else it goes into night mode... the ambient light from the 6' x 10' window next to the tank is not enough...

That is normal, in fact the flourescent lights in the warehouse will not get it out of night mode. I use a penlight to test them here. They are designed for the intense light used on reef tanks and to ignore dim ambient light from the room.
