7095 vs 7096

So .. why should I purchase a 7095 for $100 more instead of waiting for a 7096? Are there any benefits or features that out weigh the 7095 vs the 7096?

The biggest difference will be the interface. The 7096 must be plugged into a PC via USB to program it. The 7095 of course is done thru the buttons and dials on the unit.

Other notes of interest though I am likely missing a few.... The 7095 will be able to do a shorter interval still as the last report the 7096 will be able to do down to a 1 minute interval, the 7096 can do 1 second. On the other hand the 7096 will be able to control all 4 channels separately.

Did you mean the 7095 can do 1 second and the 7096 can't? Will this affect wave making in a 150 gallon tank using 2 6101? I didn't know the 7096 is only able to be programmed by a computer. This isn't a problem for me but I can see how it limits the amount of users buying and a possible reason for such a lower price point. I like seeing a smaller price tag it just makes me wonder what I am losing. Being in sales I know you get what you pay for.

You have have satisfaction now, rather than later?

That's understood.... Not quite the answer I was looking for though. In a world of increasing prices and need for higher profit margins I was curious how this controller was coming to the market for so much cheaper than its predecessor.

From my understanding the interval was kept to 1 minute minimum to keep the interface as clean as possible.

I do not think it will be possible to to do a true wave with two 6101s(one on each side of the tank) but I could be wrong due to the interval being so "long". But that being said the 7096 will have wavebox controller functions and maybe with that it might be able to do to channels alternately such as the current wavebox controller can do. Roger can likely answer this better than I of course.

this thread should help you a bit

The 7096 is so much cheaper because your computer is what is doing all the work, their are no knobs, one button and four LED's, vs the dozens of LED's and multiple buttons and knobs on the 7095. The 7095 will remain largely for maintanence companies and those who don't want to hassle with a computer. The 7096 can do everything the 7095 can do except intervals are limited to 1 minute instead of 1 second. This was done only to simplify the user interface screen. On the other hand, it can do everything the 6091 can do so if you select wavebox mode you get intervals from .3-2.5 seconds. It also has an auto tuning wavebox mode and storm mode. It is cheaper because it is really just a box with some flash memory and a basic processor and the cost of producing it is much lower as a result, your $1000 computer is doing all the heavy work.

4 as delivered, 8 with two accessory branch adapters.

These are the Y adapters?

So if I want to control 4 pumps and a nanowave box I would need one adapter?

One upgraded model that I am kinda happy I have an older model might be more but when i want to set my pumps a little lower I can do it in 2 secs by opening my stand and adjusting whatever

I'm not a computer guy, so I am glad they are going to keep the 7095!

Since you are not a computer guy, what did you use to "BANNED" people. A shot gun?

I still like the 7095 more...

That's an interesting statement. Why do you like the 7095 more?
