72" Aquascape Pics

I'm about to purchase a 72" tank with corner overflows. I wanting to see some similar tanks so I can have some ideas on the aquascaping. The tanks dimensions are 72l x 17w x 21h, I plan on using a custom hood with 3 mh and supplemental t-5 and actinic lighting. I will us 2 seperate 29 gal tanks underneath for sump and refugium. One will contain all heaters, skimmer, ATO, return pump, the other will have a deepsand bed and some type of macro algae growing and a return pump. Flow inside the tank will be mantained with 2 koralia 3's and 2 koralia 4's. Might possibly construct a closed loop.

My tank is 72L x 24 H x 30W and has been up since June 1st 2006.

Back then.

Sorry a bit off topic, but since you are interested in an aquascape, I would highly recommend looking into a much wider tank. 17" is REALLY narrow, it will be very difficult to create any kind of aquascape besides a rock wall with that width....

^^^ True. I went from a 24" wide, to a 36" wide, and its amazing how much that 12" gets you. I wouldnt ever go less than 24" ever again...

I agree that 17" width is hard to work with. I have a 125gal FOWLR with the same dimensions. I built a pvc framework down the middle of the tank (width-wise) and attached my rock to it. It creates an open channel in the front and back of the tank. It also creates lots of caves, etc. I did the best I could with the photos...
