75 gal with 55 gal sump newly setup (new to hobbie)

Also I bought Kessil controller and teach it to dim my BML lights :)

Thanks, I do have fish :) My lonely Puffer, but I am going to buy pair of True Perculas very soon. Also gonna add some Green Star Polyps. Will update soon :)

super awesome man.... loved the whole thread.... please keep posting on what you do to deal with the issues you see ... helps newbies like me :)

your set up is AMAZING!

Tanks. I did mentioned a couple of times ;) Post #41 for example. Anyway, I am using BuildMyLed lights, one 48'' strip with full spectrum and one 48'' super actinic, controlled by Kessil controller.

UPDATE.
Today I bought my first coral.

Plus I bought pair of ocellaris clownfish, cleaner shrimp and some turbo snails.
My Puffer doing great, doesn't touch any snails or coral. Very funny to watch him he is so curious about everything.

Also today I started to dose NOPOX 5 ml, to lower my Nitrates. They jump from >5 ppm after water change to over 20 ppm in a couple of days. Also my Phosphates stays at 0.25 ppm. Will report the results soon.

Loving the updates. Continuing to follow. Hope my cycle goes this smooth. I read not to run lights during the cycle to prevent the diatom bloom but I could be wrong

You keep the lights off to prevent algae to grow, diatom bloom is part of the cycling and most likely you will have it when your tank will be a month old. That's when I had mine, but nothing to worry about, buy your CUC and they will consume all your diatoms. Mine was gone in two weeks. GL

Yes, my phosphates are 0 right now with Hanna checker. Also after I removed filter pads my nitrates are also 0 now.

Great build and photos Staisman. Threads like this are quite inspirational :-)

As soon as a saw 75g + 55g sump (!), expectations for a nice system were raised. A sump that size relative to the DT gives you excellent prospects for long term success IMO.

Be careful of interpreting low phosphate readings as "safe" when the rock has some algae on it, as your starter rock seems to have. The algae on your LR will use the phosphate and give you a low reading but there may still be a problem creeping up on you.

You might want to consider installing

1) GFO reactor (or GFO + Carbon dual reactor)
To keep phosphates low

2) Biopellet reactor or carbon dosing with pump
To keep Nitrates low, help with phosphate

If algae take hold its much harder to fix afterwards than it is to prevent their occurrence in the first place. I see you have Chaeto and mangroves. They will be a good home for pods but I don't think they will be powerful enough to export the nutrients. Unless you go for an enormous amount of chaeto in that monster sump of yours. That would probably do it. Can light that 24x7...

Thanks for your input. I do not have any algae problem as of right now, quite frankly never had. The green thing on the rock is crystalline algae, i can't brush it off only my urchin can eat it. I do have GFO+ carbon reactor that helps me to keep my phosphates low and clear the water.
