75 gallon overflow from the end

I am getting ready to transfer my standard 55 gallon reef to a standard 75 gallon tank. Right now I am just keeping a single bubble tip anemone some soft corals and leathers and such. I just added 216 watts of T5 lighting and will hopefully move up to metal halide in the near future.

Here is my question. I am setting this tank up to be a room divider. So I want to be able to view it from 3 sides (front back and one end) I am wanting to have the overflow on the end of the tank that is against the wall. This is an undrilled tank so I will be using an overflow system, probably U tubes since they seem to work well for me now. Also I will be using my existing 55 gallon as a sump and refugium. Does anyone here have any experience with a tank that overflows from one end like that? Are there any special considerations I need to look into?

Thanks for any input you guys can give me.

Overflow on the end is fine. You should drill the tank if possible. Most 75G tanks are drillable on the side panels. I have heard that some are not. If you go HOB, yes, stick with a U Tube overflow.

i had that exact system for a few years. the only thing i would suggest is a power head on the opossing side of the overflow to hwlp the water move across the top of your tank. seemed to help me anyways. good luck

Thanks for the replies.

The flow is the thing I am most concerned with. I currently have two power heads, so I guess I could just use them in the new system as well.

have any of you used a closed loop on a system like this?
