75 Stock List

I know this question has been asked a bizzilion times, but I need help with mine! My first draft for stocking my 75 drilled Reef Tank is as follows:

Tomini Tang
Six-Line Wrasse
Flame Hawkfish
Blood Fire Shrimp
Pair of Clownfish
(Open Spot?)

My question is I wish to have a few more and I cannot decide on what species of clownfish to have? I previously have kept a pair of Black and White Ocellaris but I always love asking RC for suggestions!

Would worry about shrimp with hawkfish and would replace six line with a more friendly wrasse

My thoughts exactly.

As far as clowns go..... I like both ocellaris and percula clowns. The ocs I have had in the past were pretty laid back. I now have a pair of Onyx and love them. Some people get into the high $ designer clowns. Some of them look pretty cool but I just don't see paying the prices that they go for.

My neighbor has 2 hawks and the same shrimp and seems to have no problems in a 55, but he added the hawks after so could they just see the shrimp as beneficial then?

would replace six line with a more friendly wrasse

:( Aww, I really like the look of the six line and the benefits of it eating all the parasites. Would it really be a problem, or can a real problem arise with it in this kind of tank?

Six lines can be aggressive and bully other fish in your tank, but every situation is different.

+1 that sixlines can be a devil in your tank. There are alot better looking wrasses that are reef safe and docile.

I have heard of hawkfish not messing with shrimp. But the shrimp were put in the tank first and adults and established in the tank. I agree with this even though Ive never had a hawkfish. I would try it but my porcelain would be a goner.

As far as clowns go, I have a pair of a percula and occellaris. IMO I really like this. They are two different types but paired. Im sure you could do this with percs, occelaris, picasso, onyx, snowflake, and black ice. Gives it some variety as opposed to a pair of the same clowns.

- Instead of the six-line, I would probably try a flasher, fairy or wrasse from the Halichoeres family.
- Have you had fire shrimp before? Although gorgeous, they tend to hide a lot.
- I think you could probably add two more small fish (suggestion assumes that you are able to maintain good water quality): something like a blenny, royal gramma, or a goby (would personally stay away from the sand-sifting goby varieties).

I have had them, and they are super pretty and mine use to come out regularly during feeding g if a fish swam by him, so I hope if I get another it will have the similar personality:eek1:.

I have puka shell bottom so sand sifters are out :lmao:
