750g show tank (L shape)

I don't dare ask how much a tank like this must cost to build and setup but have you done any estimations on how much this tank will cost to run, including electricity, salt, additives, chemicals, etc... That's the main factor that keeps me with a small to medium tank. I can afford to spend a lot on a tank and equipment, but I'm a contractor. In this economy, I don't want to be stuck with a $250-500 a month, maintenance cost. The last thing I want to do is have to dump my tank because I can't afford the monthly maintenance cost.

well that's a good question... we try having equipement with less electricity consumption, but it's sure that this baby will show itself on the electricity bill lol

when everything is finish I'll calculate the cost by month :)... or maybe not!!

Beautiful tank. I see there are lights already over the tank...any chance we can get a pic with the lights on?:D

well the fixture is over the tank... just so it wont be in our way because we still didn't put the ballast in it

but we bring the second fixture in, so it's should take to long before we have light running on our system :)

About all i can say i wow. I really love the part where YOU HAVE TO GET IN to place the sand. Your going to need a snorkel just to clean the glass. Coming in late but im signing on to follow this one. Good luck

lol thank you!!
well going in the tank was really funny!!! but keep in mind that the heater wasn't on yet... so it was REALLY COLD!!

:)

This is an awesome setup!

wooooooowwwww:eek1: started reading this thread and kept on going to the last page..Awesome build. Cant wait for it to be filled up with corals...

You will have to post a video! Very cool.

wow...impressed.
Keep the updates coming.....

It is a very beautiful aquarium, I hope to see it finished.

Greetings from Argentina

Incredible, there's nothing in it other than some rock and it's already one of my favourite tanks ever! I can't wait to see this progress over the next few weeks :D

thank you everybody!!
it's so fun finding out that your tank is seen by people all over the world!!

for sure I will post video when I'll have some fishes and corals in it :bounce1:

Just spent some time going through the thread, awesome build! Taggin' along.

BEAutiful!!! get that puppy running~!

That is so amazing, I am sitting here looking at your pictures with my girlfriend, and shes going, omg! when we get older we need a tank like that!

So thank you so much, she is now finally getting into fishtanks, but now with your tank, shes in love! Victory! last week she wanted to get her own 75g to work on! haha!

lol that's one of the best compliment!
it's so great when the 2 persons in a couple have the same passion... just one thing... no one to say "STOP" and then you'll finish with a 750g in your basement hahaha

now on the update :)

like I told you, the tank/sump is running!!! after tests only one Marinetech 4600 gph return pump will be enough :)

we start the heater today :bounce3:

yes well... I don't really like puting picture of me on the Internet

maybe if I'm going in there with my wetsuit instead of my bikini lol but for now no picture :wildone:

understandable. I Just find it hilarious to see people swimming in thier fish tanks. no worries

i remember you talking about you have one deltec skimmer and were possibly going to run 2??
i was browsing around, and noticed a marine tech skimmer somewhere??? i was just wondering if you were going to use a marine tech or stick with the deltec?

great progress and i cant wait for more!!!

Man don't think I've seen a setup that's so clean and cool looking all the way down to the sump, I almost wish vicious case of salt creep or something to make it look more like many of our tanks :D

I just wish all that clean elegance wasn't so damn expensive, those plumbing fixtures alone cost buco bucks!

i was just looking at these pictures again, and in the first picture, there is a union with a cap on the drain line. i was wondering if that was going to be used to feed your skimmers? (my second thought was how you are going to make sure that there is enough drain/pressure to send water through the union? if there were a valve under it to force pressure through the union i would understand.
thanks.
its looking good so far!! :bounce1::bounce2::bounce3: i cant wait for more!!!:celeb3:

well the first idea was to take a Deltec, but JF would like to make is own BIG skimmer lol

so we will start with the Deltec but when JF have some free time he will built a BEAST hihihi

so in the end we will have a Marinetech Skimmer
